This Sunday April 1st, there is an important Fundraiser for the Cambodian Self Help Demining team (CSHD), not to be missed for those who live in Siem Reap!
Mr. Scott Povey, the Event’s Producer and resident of Siem Reap, has put together an exciting afternoon, taking place from 2-7pm at The Republic. There are still millions of landmines across Cambodia, and there remains a great deal of work which needs to be done in order for Cambodia to be free from them. This event’s proceeds will assist funding the CSHD team, so they can keep doing their vital work. To find out more about their work, click here: http://www.cambodianselfhelpdemining.org/
The event offers participants the opportunity to:
- Meet Akira (a CNN World Hero and an incredibly inspiring human being), for more information click here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qx4Bz2IZWmg
- Meet the people who clear landmines
- See a screening of Until They’re Gone
Plus a raffle and much more….
Tickets cost $10 and must be bought in advance from the following outlets: Bang Bang Bakery, Hotel 20th, The Hangout and The Republic. Alternatively, email the Event Producer: firstname.lastname@example.org and he will meet you with them!
The SRPS team will be there to join this fantastic event, as Cho, the SRPS founder says, “Akira is a role model of mine. He is a man who puts his life at risk everyday, hoping that one day Cambodia will be free from these horrible killing machines. He is a true inspiration and someone who is making a real difference for the future generation”.
We hope to see you there this Sunday and would like to thank Scott Povey for putting together this fantastic event for such an important cause! For those who cannot attend the event in person, but still wish to donate, there is the opportunity to do so at: http://www.landmine-relief-fund.com/donate/
